2008 NORTHWEST WASHINGTON SYNOD ASSEMBLY

The 21st Assembly of the Northwest Washington Synod was held on the first weekend of our spring weather, May 16 and 17 at the Everett Event Center.  Under the theme, Gods Work. Our Hands, we gathered for two days to hear reports, elect leaders, make decisions and be challenged to grow in our faith and knowledge.  The program for the assembly was seven modules by the Lay Theological Education Task Force, and included topics such as ÒHow Can Lutheran Theological Thinking Engage Northwest Washington Culture?Ó

Throughout the assembly many speakers referred to the Book of Faith, an initiative of the ELCA.  The vision for the Book of Faith is that the whole church become more fluent in the first language of faith, the language of Scripture, in order that we might live into our calling as a people renewed, enlivened, empowered, and sent by the Word.  Every voting member had a chance to receive the Book of Faith free from Augsburg Fortress.  This book is available on the usherÕs table for you to look through.

The following is a list of Resolutions received during the assembly.  The decision made on each is included in the table.
