What is the Mission Endowment Fund?

The congregation of Bethlehem Lutheran established the Mission Endowment Fund (the Fund) in 2007 to enhance the outreach of our Church. The Fund receives gifts and bequests that enable Bethlehem Lutheran to support programs and Missions beyond what is possible through the annual operating budget.

The Fund is separate and distinct from the annual operating budget.

How is the Fund administered?

The Fund is administered by a five-member Fund Committee. The committee manages the assets of the Fund.

The Fund Committee allocates portions of the Fund income to support specific programs named in the Fund bylaws. No income from the fund can be used to supplement the operating expenses of the congregation

How Can I Participate?

 Contributions to the Endowment Fund can occur in several ways, and many have potential tax advantages. Gifts or memorials may be made directly to the Fund in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, life insurance, real estate or other property.

· Cash Contributions— are always welcome no matter what size the gift.

· Memorial Gifts— are contributions of money or property in the memory of family or friends.

· Real Estate And Securities— deeded gifts and/or transfers of ownership to the Endowment Fund.

· Bequests (Wills) and Trusts— are gifts included in your will or trust.

· Life Insurance Policies– new and existing, may be used for gifts to the Fund.

How will income from the Fund be used?

Income from the fund is used to enhance the missions of Bethlehem Lutheran by providing support in key areas including outreach in the local community, global ministries and extraordinary programs within the congregation.

How can I get more information about the Fund?

You can obtain more information and answers to your specific questions by contacting any member of the Endowment Fund Committee or by filling out the form on the back of this brochure and turning it into the Church office.

At your request, a Fund Committee member will confer with you about making a gift or bequest to the Bethlehem Lutheran Mission Endowment Fund.

Donors are encouraged to consult their attorney when preparing or amending their wills or estate plans.
